Woodstock, Ontario

Starbank’s goal was to create an 80,700 SF community shopping centre on the periphery of the City of Woodstock.

Our challenge was to design a shopping centre on 9.2 acres of land, which would meet the goals and objectives of the client and the City of Woodstock Building and Planning Department.

Our solution was to work closely with the owner’s planning consultant and the City of Woodstock in order to address urban design concerns and provide solutions for the overall development. Pad buildings were placed at the edge of Norwich Avenue to ensure friendly pedestrian links into the site. The major anchor tenants were located at the rear, which also helped to create an efficient parking field. The result was the owner’s ability to create a co-tenancy mix that achieved 100% occupancy, which improved the property’s performance and drew in new customers to the centre.

The key to the success of this project was our ability to work with City staff and collectively work out issues to create real solutions to site development.
