VAUGHAN MILLS SHOPPING CENTRE – FOOD COURT RENOVATION

Vaughan, Ontario

Ivanhoe Cambridge’s goal was to renovate the existing interior food court of the shopping centre and minimize customer disruption at the food court tenant queuing aisle, thus expanding service capacity.

Our challenge was to create a new spatial configuration that would minimize disruption in the food court queuing aisles.

Our solution was to create a new pedestrian speed aisle from the north public corridor to the south public corridor, passing through the centre of the existing food court. The renovation work was broken down into phases and zones. We worked closely with municipal officials and other authorities to ensure that all renovation work would be performed while the food court remained open for business.

The key to the project’s success was our ability to fully understand and meet the client’s and tenant’s needs, while resolving municipal issues, from pre-consultation meetings to building permit issuance. On budget, we delivered the project in just 8 months.
