Co-Generation Power Plant

Toronto AMF, ON

The buildings for this 117 megawatt co-generation power plant were designed to house the engineering processes involved in the production of electricity. The buildings included facilities for office administration, stream turbine generation, water circulation and gas compression. LEED design options were researched and evaluated regarding their implications for the project. A primary concern was the implement action of cooling measures for the steam/gas turbine building. A white roof, and white exterior wall panels and tinted reflective double-glazing with an operable sash were specified in order to reduce heat gain and assist in its dissipation
