The Village at Blue Mountain Resort

The Blue Mountains, Ontario

The expansion of the Blue Mountain Ski Resort was conceived as a four seasons urban "village" that encourages social interaction and community activity. Public spaces, plazas, restaurant terraces and activity zones are interconnected by urban streets, boardwalks and promenades. The predominantly 4 storey buildings house restaurants, retail stores and other amenities expressing variations on the theme of rural Ontario architecture and iconic building structures, combining selected colours and natural materials. These features capture the experience of a small town while providing the amenities, social activities and conveniences of a large development.
